ARTIST STATEMENT
Arion Austin-Crowe’s artistic practice seeks to explore interpersonal relationships through depictions of the ways by which we socially perceive or are perceived, aiming to illustrate the human condition and its instinctual wish for the subjective to be transformed into the objective.
The collection of works builds upon this through the depiction of culinary related settings and subject matter, with the central focus of said environments, food, being absent, forcing us to reconsider what happens to our interactions when the focus is shifted onto the things we may sense yet fail to perceive.
