2026 Program is Now Open for Submissions
Established in 2002, Red Gallery is an independent art gallery in Melbourne, Australia, supporting artists across all career stages. We invite artists based in Australia to join the conversation and submit work for our 2026 exhibition program. This is a unique opportunity to showcase your practice and become part of Red Gallery’s vibrant artistic community. We welcome exhibition proposals from artists, curators, collectives, artist groups, and events.
GALLERY SPACES
A heritage exhibition space with skylight natural light, bringing a distinct spatial character and intimate viewing experience.

GALLERY 1 (17m)
Positioned at the gallery entrance, combines strong street visibility with natural light, creating an immediate connection between the work and passing audiences.

GALLERY 2 (21m)
Offers a generous, open wall configuration with natural light, accommodates both solo exhibitions and curated group shows, allowing for considered installation and spatial flow.

– Artists at all stages of their practice, from emerging to established
– Curators, artist collectives, and collaborative groups proposing independent exhibition projects
– Submissions across all mediums, including painting, textile, soft sculpture, sculpture, photography, installation, mixed media, and digital practices
– Applicants based in Australia and internationally are welcome -
Gallery Hire fee is for 2 weeks and GST included
+ Gallery 1: Wall space 19m $2,500
+ Gallery 2: Wall space 21m $3,278
+ Gallery 3: Wall space 21m $3,278
+ Gallery 4: Wall space 16m $2,178
No commission is taken on in-person sales. A 10% commission applies to works sold through the gallery’s online platform.

Gallery Space & Facilities
– Use of the gallery space for the agreed exhibition period
– Access to display walls, hanging systems, and exhibition areas
– Provision of plinths and display furniture
– Standard utilities including lighting, electricity, and water
– A dedicated bar setup supporting professionally managed opening events
– Opening night service organised and staffed by the gallery, including bar service under a liquor licence (RSA compliant)Installation & Deinstallation
– Access to basic tools and equipment for installation and deinstallation, including nails, hammers, and drills
– Use of the gallery’s hanging systems
– Guidance and advice from gallery staff during installation and deinstallation– Artwork collection and handover
Curatorial & Exhibition Support
– Curatorial guidance within a professional exhibition framework
– Advice on presentation, layout, and spatial arrangement
– Ongoing support from gallery staff throughout the exhibition periodMarketing
– Targeted promotion across established gallery channels, including social media (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Xiaohongshu) and the gallery website
– Exhibition announcements distributed via the gallery newsletter (6,000+ subscribers)
– Professionally produced exhibition documentation, including stills and video
– Artist exhibition statement and room sheet prepared to support presentation and sales
