ARTIST  STATEMENT 

Paddy is a Melbourne based abstract painter who has always been a visual person, remembering the

faces of people met and places visited with a heightened attraction to the colours of life. Paddy takes

familiar landscapes and transforms them into abstract studies of colour and texture. This collection of

paintings is based on images seen and places visited. The finished works are expressed in patterns,

layering colours and texture to create a surface worth exploring.

ARTIST  BIOGRAPHY

Paddy O’Sullivan is a Melbourne-based abstract artist whose current work explores landscapes through

colour and texture. A graduate of Ballarat University’s Art School and Melbourne University, Paddy has

both exhibited his own works and used his skills as an art teacher to inspire budding young artists at a

rural high school. Several of his students have gone on to have successful careers as painters,

illustrators and sculptors. Paddy attributes much of his own success as an artist to his own former art

teacher, Trevor Sault and lecturer Doug Wright,  whose guidance and influence lit a creative spark.
