ARTIST  STATEMENT 

Francesca Pezzimenti explores love, desire, and emotional intimacy through figurative painting. Inspired by the visual language of 1950s and 1960s poster art, she draws on an aesthetic that celebrates glamour, confidence, sensuality, and the allure of romantic attraction. Through rich color, expressive gesture, and intimate compositions, her work captures the frisson of desire, exploring the magnetic pull and unspoken emotional tension between women and men, inviting viewers into moments that are both deeply personal and universally felt.

ARTIST  BIOGRAPHY

Francesca Pezzimenti is a Melbourne-based artist whose practice spans more than four decades. Throughout her career, she has continually experimented with a diverse range of materials and mediums, developing a distinctive visual language grounded in figurative painting. Her work has been recognised through numerous painting awards, exhibitions across Victoria, artist residencies in Australia and internationally, and commissions for original works.
