COI Creations | 21 of 360, "Heart"
Vitis vinifera, leaf Eucalyptus, branch Recycled plywood
29 × 17 × 21 cm
The 360 Project is an evolving design development series by Coi. The name references the approximate circumference of the first batch of handmade lamp shades, forming both a literal and conceptual foundation.
The goal is to create 360 unique lighting designs over time—each one linking to the others through a shared design language, material exploration, or thread. 'Heart" is rooted in that fleeting moment—when something confronting can becomes strangely beautiful if you look long enough.
Made with foraged vine leaves, and fractured light, the piece emulates the hues, fragility, and quiet power of internal anatomy. Just as organs carry life, stories, and scars, so too do the materials—marked by decay, disease, and seasonal change. When illuminated, the cracks and imperfections in the lamp echo the vulnerability of the body. This is not a celebration of perfection but of complexity: how beauty and discomfort can occupy the same space, if only you're daring to look.
