RED GALLERY EXHIBITION AGREEMENT FOR THE RED SALON GROUP SHOW 2025

We are excited to express our gratitude for your participation as one of the artists selected for Red Salon's inaugural exhibition. Tammy Honey, has personally curated this collection to introduce herself as both the manager and curator of the gallery, marking the beginning of 2025 at Red Gallery.

This exhibition offers a rich, immersive experience, allowing viewers to explore a thoughtfully curated selection of artists and their works. Guided by her distinctive Metamodern approach, Honey has orchestrated a vibrant oscillation of colour, form, installation, video, and sound, creating an atmosphere to activate an affect of residual reflection. The exhibition will run from 12-23 February 2025, with a special opening night on Valentine's Day, 14 February from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

● Installation artworks install: 9:00 AM,  9 February 2025 

● Or could be different if prearranged

● Delivery of all other artworks: Between 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM 5 - 9 February 2025

● Gallery commission for artwork sold in Red Salon is 15% (to cover administration) 

● Collection of Artwork in person: Sunday 23 February at 3:00 PM

4.1 VIDEO ARTWORKS 

● Video delivery deadline: 5 January 2025 by 11.59 PM

● Send a link to a Google folder

● VIDEO ENCODING

● Encode the video using a video software such as Adobe, Resolve, Apple or  Avid

● Use MP4 H264, stereo (48 khz), 2 pass, 16:9 wrapper, 25 fps, FHD 1920 x 1080

● Encode as a standalone file

● Sound will be played in stereo

● Tammy will be arranging a double-checking of all video works to ensure basic QC and arrange for delivery of installation

4.2 DELIVERING IN-PERSON OF ARTWORK

● Delivered time between: 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM 

● Delivery Dates between: 5 - 9 February 2025

● Labelled on the back with the following or with artwork to cross-check deals

4.5 DELIVERY OF ARTWORK BY POST/COURIER

● Send an email with your tracking number to let us know it is being delivered

● Packages delivered by post/courier must be clearly labelled with the following:

5. CONDITIONS AND RESPONSIBILITY OF GALLERY AND ARTISTS

• Invitation only artists

• Cost: $150 Per artist

• Entry fees must be paid online, in the gallery or over the phone

• Tammy Honey will be preselecting artwork to curate

• Gallery commission for artwork sold in Red Salon is 15% (to cover administration) 

• Artists are responsible to ensure their artwork does not infringe on copyright

• Copyright or licensing of each artwork must belong to the artist

• Work must be original 

• Red Gallery will not accept content that is indecent, harmful, inflammatory, defamatory or racist

• Red Gallery will not accept artworks that may cause injury or harm to staff or patrons, and no hazardous or bio-hazardous materials. 

• All mediums: painting, prints, light works, photography, sculpture, mixed media, digital work, textiles, video artworks and sound works.

• Soundworks must have a listening device with headphones

• Video work will be projected in Gallery 4 on a time loop with other video artworks

• Lightwork must be tagged and tested

• Red Gallery will curate and display the artworks for the group exhibition

• The Gallery will provide on-site public liability insurance but suggests all artists take personal insurance for their artworks

 6. READY TO HANG or DISPLAY REQUIREMENTS 

• All artwork must arrive at the gallery ready to hang 

• All framed artworks must have d-rings attached for hanging and wire 

• Canvases must have d-rings attached for hanging and wired or hung via their stretcher frames where appropriate

• All unframed works on paper will use tabs for hanging and will not be pinned through the paper 

• If magnets are required they must be supplied by the artist

• If special hanging is required please inform the gallery before the installation

• Sculpture will be placed on plinths 

• Ceramics will require museum wax 

• Textiles must provide hanging and instructions on how to hang

• Soundworks must have their listening device with headphones

• Video work must be delivered as required

• Lightwork must be tagged and tested for safety

7. CURATION AND EXHIBITION DISPLAY

• The gallery has the final say in all curatorial decisions

• Specific placement requests will not be accepted 

• Artworks requiring a power source must be powered by a tagged & tested cord that will be plugged into a PowerPoint display.

• The gallery will not be responsible for replacing or maintaining batteries 

• The gallery will not be responsible for replacing LED bulbs, etc

8. LABELLING OF ARTWORKS

• Each artwork must be clearly labelled with the following and securely to the artwork

            - Artist name  

            - Artwork title 

            - Medium

            - Dimensions

            - Price

            - Contact number and email

• Labelling must be clear and legible on the back of the work or with the artwork

9. COLLECTION OF ARTWORKS 

• Unsold works must be collected from the Red Gallery on these dates

• In-person: Sunday 23 February at 3:00 PM

• By courier: Collected by Wednesday 26 February 2025

• Artists are responsible for bringing packaging for the transport of works upon collection

• In the event, you cannot collect personally, the artist can nominate someone to collect on their behalf on the above dates.

• You will need to email us names and dates for collection in advance in advance of the exhibition closing

• Their matching ID must be shown to collect the artwork

10. RETURN OF WORKS PROCESS BY POST OR COURIER

• Email in advance of artwork that is  not sold will be picked up by which courier

• Must provide packaging for artwork to be packed for the courier

• The Gallery will package the artwork for return

• The Artist must already have the details of the packed weight and dimensions

• Email us the barcode and delivery address details so we can print and attach information to the package

• It is the artist's responsibility to arrange a courier 

• Collected by Wednesday 26 February 2025

• Once the artwork is packaged after the exhibition

• The artist is responsible for the shipping insurance of the artwork

11. FAILURE TO COLLECT

• Works not collected by 23 April 2025 will be considered abandoned, and will be disposed of

12. ARTWORK SALES

• 15% Gallery Commission on all artwork sales applies

• This includes GST where applicable

• Artists will be notified about sales after the exhibition has concluded

• With the sale of artwork, we will require you to send us an invoice with the following 

           - Artwork sold 

           - your details

           - ABN

           - Your bank details to receive payment

•  It is the artist’s responsibility to ensure bank details are correct

• Artist Settlements are prepared and finalised up to 30 days after the exhibition's end

13. ARTWORK DAMAGE AND INSURANCE

• Artist’s Insurance Responsibility: The Artist is solely responsible for obtaining and maintaining appropriate insurance coverage for their Artworks, including but not limited to theft, damage, or loss during storage, transit, or display, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

• Gallery’s Responsibility: The Gallery is not liable for loss, theft, or damage to the Artworks while in its possession, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct.

• Proof of Insurance: Upon request, the Artist shall provide proof of insurance coverage to the Gallery.

• Artworks damaged in transit will not be hung

• While we take care of artwork, following industry best practices, Red Gallery takes no responsibility for theft, loss or damage to artwork

• It is advised that concerned artists purchase their insurance

14.  COPYRIGHT AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY 

● Ownership: The Artist retains all copyright and intellectual property rights to the Artworks unless explicitly agreed otherwise in writing.

● License to Gallery: The Artist grants Red Gallery permission to use images and descriptions of the Artworks solely for purposes of marketing, promotion, and sale during the term of this Agreement.

● Gallery's Liability: Red Gallery shall not be held liable for any claims of copyright infringement brought against the Artist for the Artworks unless the infringement arises directly from the Gallery’s unauthorized actions.
