Operating since 2002, Red Gallery is one of Melbourne’s oldest and most iconic independent gallery spaces nestled firmly in Fitzroy’s dynamic and vibrant Arts Precinct. The gallery has created a space that supports independent artists by showcasing artists from emerging, mid-career, and established artists from traditional to contemporary practice such as paintings, photography, sculptures, printmaking, textile to immersive installations.
2026 Program is Now Open for Submissions
We invite artists based in Australia to join the conversation and submit work for our 2026 exhibition program. This is a unique opportunity to showcase your practice and become part of Red Gallery’s vibrant artistic community. We welcome exhibition proposals from artists, curators, collectives, artist groups, and events.How to Submit Your Proposal

+ Any special installation requirements

Gallery Hire fee is for 2 weeks and GST included
+ Gallery 1: Wall space 19m $2,500
+ Gallery 2: Wall space 21m $3,278
+ Gallery 3: Wall space 21m $3,278
+ Gallery 4: Wall space 16m $2,178

+ Once we have received your proposal we will contact you via email
+ Work out gallery space and exhibition dates
+ Send you a contract
+ A 30% deposit secures your exhibition date
+ The balance is due 9 weeks prior to the exhibition

● Artist’s Insurance Responsibility: The Artist is solely responsible for obtaining and maintaining appropriate insurance coverage for their Artworks, including but not limited to theft, damage, or loss during storage, transit, or display, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
● Gallery’s Responsibility: The Gallery is not liable for loss, theft, or damage to the Artworks while in its possession, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct.
● Proof of Insurance: Upon request, the Artist shall provide proof of insurance coverage to the Gallery.
● Artworks damaged in transit will not be hung
● While we take care of artwork, following industry best practices, Red Gallery takes no responsibility for theft, loss or damage to artwork
● It is advised that concerned artists purchase their insurance
