ARTIST  STATEMENT 

Once Upon a Time in Mexico – Season 1 is a collection of contemporary oil paintings inspired by lived experiences in Mexico, exploring how memory, emotion, and place shape the stories we carry. Blending realism with elements of cubism, the works reflect shifting perspectives and the ways memories evolve over time, while a quiet spiritual presence weaves throughout the collection. The exhibition features seven paintings from the main collection alongside twelve works from the Joyas(fragments) sub-series.

ARTIST  BIOGRAPHY

Yahweh the Creator is a contemporary oil painter based in Melbourne, Australia. His practice explores memory, perspective, and Christian faith through oil painting, drawing inspiration from lived experiences across Australia and Mexico. Combining realism with elements of cubism, he creates layered narratives that invite viewers to reflect on the stories we remember, the perspectives we hold, and the quiet spiritual presence woven throughout his work.
