Brendon Pitts semi-structural works are a result of an exploration of memory and personal landscapes. Presenting images based on cultural icons such as the local fish and chip shop, he dips into our memory-banks and prompts questions about memory recall, surburban landscapes and nostalgia.
Using colour and form, Pitts takes the viewer from an initial impression to a greater level of comprehension. The works are curious and optically unsettling.
Brendon Pitts is a Melbourne based artist and is currently completing a Masters Degree in Fine Art at the VCA.

Nora Sumberg’s sensuous paintings draw you into their depths. Using the landscape as a starting point, Nora melds her material with memory and experience. The end result is a body of work that is luscious and enthralling.
Subtle shifts in focus and depth keep the viewer’s attention on the move, and the peculiar light incorporated into some of the works, suggests timelessness. These are paintings that need to be stared at and the viewer will be rewarded with a sense of calm.
Nora Sumberg was born in Bairnsdale Victoria. She studied Fine Art at Caulfield Institute of Technology (now Monash University) with majors in painting and photography. Nora has been the recipient of numerous grants and prizes from the Australia Council including studio’s and post graduate studies in Italy (Besozzo Studio) and New York (Peter Brown Memorial Scholarship to the New York Studio School). other residencies include Bundanon (the Arthur and Yvonne Boyd program for the arts) in 2001 and the tower studio (Victorian Trades Hall Council) 2002/3.
