The 2PiR Artists 10th Anniversary exhibition
In
honour of their long association with the Ovarian Cancer Research
Foundation the 2PiR Artists tenth anniversary exhibition will be opened in
support of the OCRF by Dr. Andrew Stephens, OCRF NAB Research Fellow.
The
2PiR Artists began meeting regularly in 1998 and have now been exhibiting
together for nearly a decade. Their first exhibition opened at Span
Galleries on 5 October, 1999.
Over the past ten years the group has exhibited in Melbourne galleries, regional galleries, as well as at the Monash University, Prato Campus in Italy.
Whilst retaining a solid core membership, the group is somewhat fluid with members occasionally departing and new artists being invited to join.
Individual members of the 2PiR Artists group are represented in state and regional galleries, university collections, and major private collections in Australia and overseas. Recipients of fellowships, travel grants and major awards, some have held artist-in-residence positions and completed numerous commissions.
Members of the group have been hung in major exhibitions, such as the Blake Prize, the Dobell Drawing Prize, and exhibited regularly in artist run spaces, commercial galleries in Australia and overseas.
